Recording USB Mic For Computer With Stand Omnidirectional Condenser for Podcasting and Skype

This USB condenser microphone offers a straightforward solution for spoken-word and music recording at home or in a studio. Its omnidirectional pickup pattern means you do not need to speak directly into one side, making it ideal for group calls, interviews, or multi-person podcasts. The plug-and-play USB connection with a built-in sound card removes the hassle of driver installation, so you can start recording as soon as you plug it into a compatible computer. The weighted base and silicone foot pads keep the microphone stable on a desk, while the adjustable neck allows you to angle the capsule towards the sound source for consistent audio quality.

Features and Construction

The microphone is built around an electret condenser capsule with a 360-degree high-sensitivity sensor. This design aims to reduce background noise while capturing clear spoken audio. Practical features include a compact form factor and a flexible neck that holds position once adjusted.

Material and Build

The main body is made from ABS plastic, which is lightweight but sturdy enough for everyday desktop use. A sponge windscreen covers the microphone element to soften plosive sounds, and silicone pads on the base improve grip on smooth surfaces. The construction is intended for steady, stationary placement rather than handheld use.

Size and Practical Fit

The microphone operates on a 3V power supply drawn from the USB port. With an impedance of 2.2KΩ and a sensitivity rating of -58dB±3dB, it is designed for close-to-medium distance recording. The included cable measures approximately 1.8 metres, which gives you enough reach to position the microphone away from a laptop or desktop tower.

Uses and Placement

This microphone is suited to a variety of spoken-word and vocal recording tasks where a stable desktop setup is convenient. Its omnidirectional pickup means it can capture audio from multiple speakers sitting around a table, which is useful for meetings or roundtable discussions.

Event or Professional Use

In a studio or radio-station setting, the microphone can be placed on a desk for vocal takes or live streaming. The adjustable neck allows the capsule to be angled towards the speaker without needing an extra boom arm. For stage performances, a more robust microphone may be needed, but for spoken presentations or small recordings, this unit can serve reliably.

Everyday Home Use

At home, the microphone is suitable for podcasting, YouTube voiceovers, Skype calls, FaceTime chats, gaming, and general computer-based voice communication. The USB connection works with most modern operating systems without special software, making it easy to switch between tasks.

Benefits and Buying Value

The main advantages of this microphone are its ease of use, stable desk stand, and omnidirectional pickup that reduces the need for constant mic position adjustments. The built-in sound card and plug-and-play design remove technical barriers, while the weighted base minimises accidental tipping.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

The microphone requires no ongoing costs apart from occasional cleaning of the sponge windscreen. The silicone pads can be wiped with a damp cloth, and the ABS body is resistant to minor scuffs. There are no moving parts or batteries to replace under normal use.

Why Choose This Product

If you need a reliable USB microphone that captures audio from all directions and works straight out of the box, this model offers a practical choice. Its compact footprint, adjustable neck, and stable stand make it a versatile addition to any desktop recording or communication setup.
